Evgeny Artyukhin goes from Tampa to Anaheim in exchange for Drew Miller.
Any thoughts?
Maybe Artyukhin's PIMs stay but his points might fall off a bit on a deeper Ducks lineup?

i'm thinking his numbers might go up just a hair... he'll be a bottom six type guy wherever he goes. anaheim is overloaded with RWs at the moment, so it all depends on who switches over to LW as to whether Arty is on L3 or L4. Time will tell.

Miller has more offensive upside than Arty. I could see Miller getting a shot in Tampa's top six. Especially since they only have 4 top 6 quality guys.

This 1 is a bit of a headscratcher for me because I felt when Miller stepped in he was quite effective, but Anaheim just seems to like getting bigger and bigger while still staying quick. In the end, I think Anaheim was just salivating at the opportunity of getting a big guy with a mean streak that can skate on top of it... hence... tossing in that 3rd Rounder which I'm sure got Tampa's attention and put this deal over the top and had them more than happy to let go of Artyukhin.

Tampa also saves $400 000 in salary, so I think they won the deal hands down.

Artyukhin will be missed for his bone crushing hits but thats it. He has hands of stone, takes too many shifts "off" and takes way too many dumb penalties. Plus a lot of times the refs will call boarding or roughing on a perfectly legal hit, just because it was so devastating it looked dirty...lol
He was making almost $1 million to play 9-10 minutes a night, which is a really good deal for him but not so much for the NHL team paying him. I liked Miller in Anaheim in the playoffs I felt he deserved to be on their roster and was happy when I saw that dealing R2 brought us Miller plus a 3rd round pick.
If R2 stays in the NHL next season, he will make more than hes making now as he won't accept a paycut or demotion, otherwise he's KHL bound, count on it.

TSN via the Associated Press is announcing today that Artyukhin has been traded to Anaheim for Miller. tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=291094Looks like somehow the story got a 9/14 date slapped on it instead of 8/14 and the story got reposted.
