I don't know if anyone will be willing to sign a one dimensional floater for $3.9. Maybe a team with a ton of cap space like the Islanders or Preds.
I think he'll end up in Russia.... (Z4).

i'd like him in atlanta... i think he could work some magic with antropov/kovalchuk. also heard rumors of him to detroit, but who knows how much truth is in that. if he's willing to sign for 3.5 or less, he'd be extremely desirable to a lot of teams. otherwise... KHL it is.

KHL-bound... It's a shame that much talent but no work ethic to back up any GM's decision to sign him especially with this economy I don't think owners will let their GMs drop a couple million on him to see it half-assed on the ice.

Yup, he's going to play with Yulaev Salavat Ufa of the KHL. No one is surprised.

Yeh rather quick to head to Ufa but in the end I really think he saw how low his value was outside of the Rangers' organization. Shame though maybe if he gets the fire to work harder after a few seasons in the KHL maybe he could come back and resurrect an NHL career because he is still very young and talented.

rumors now are saying that it might not be official. and yes, i'm quoting eklund. but reports out of russia have been sketchy and flat out wrong many times before... it's totally possible that this isn't the end of zherdev.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported a few days ago that Thrashers GM Don Waddell admitted speaking with Zherdev recently. Who knows what if anything will come out of that.

Let him go. He's been a half assed player almost his whole career (with the exception of the half a season he played his first season where he was fantastic) with very little heart, no work ethic, and a bad ego. I like his potential, but he's the type of player that I expect and don't mind seeing run off to Russia.
(Although if he stays, someone above noted as well....he may be a perfect fit in Atlanta with 2 other Russians who seem to have the same mentality as him. 3 talented Russians who struggle to play with heart and a good work ethic on one line! Endless possibilities for line names)
