Aaron Ward traded to Carolina for Patrick Eaves and a 4th rounder.
Bruins then waive Eaves, apparently clearing room to sign Kessel.
For Carolina, the addition of Ward means: - Chances of signing Seidenberg now almost 0 - Canes have "moved on" from trying to negotiate with Babchuck. expect to trade him or maybe he'll go to Russia - Canes expected to buy out Frank Kaberle

It also will add some weight to cam ward's jersey, as he'll have to include his first initial. Look for this to severely affect his balance. trade him immediately.

OK, now Boston has signed Derek Morris for 3.3M. So much for the room for Kessel. is there another trade on the way?

If Carolina buys out Kaberle then they might have the space to re-sign Babchuk or Seidenberg. I think they have to sign at least one more NHL calibre D-man. I doubt they want Tim Conboy as their 6th guy. He's a 7th guy at best.
As for Boston.... they have to have another move in the works. Either that or a rival GM has told the Bruins that they are going to make an offer to Kessel.

I hope boston makes another move, if not and they lose kessel it seems kinda a bummer they didn't just take the kaberle deal.
