sourceTRENTON, N.J. - Days after breaking the NHL record for wins by a goalie, Devils netminder Martin Brodeur has been dealt an alimony setback by a New Jersey appeals court. The court ruled that Brodeur must pay his ex-wife US$500,000 a year until 2020. A lower court originally awarded Brodeur's ex-wife, Melanie DuBois, limited alimony. Brodeur appealed, asking that he only be required to pay alimony until he retires, which he estimated to be in 2012. DuBois asked for alimony payments until 2024, when their youngest is anticipated to graduate from college. The court ordered Brodeur to pay alimony until 2020, the year the youngest child graduates high school.

Brodie should have thought twice before sleeping with his also married sister in law.

Yea, he slept with his wife's brother's wife. The specifics are in this long boring law article. www.duhaime.org/LawMag/EntryId/36/Martin-Brodeur-Justice-1-Privacy-0.aspxIn 2002, after a seven-year marriage, he and his then-wife Melanie Dubois, gave birth to a daughter, their fourth. Ms Dubois’ brother and sister-in-law came to live with them to help out with the children. The rest of the sordid tale is set out the appeal court reasons. "The Plaintiff (Ms Dubois) soon began to suspect that her husband was having an affair with her brother's wife. In the summer of 2002, she confronted defendant (Mr. Brodeur) about her suspicions; both defendant and her sister-in-law denied having an affair, and plaintiff had no reason to disbelieve them. She allowed her brother and sister-in-law to remain living with them. On December 24, 2002, however, defendant admitted to having an adulterous relationship with his sister-in-law. When, on December 28, 2002, plaintiff learned that the affair was continuing, she removed defendant's belongings from the marital home and asked him to leave. He stayed in hotels and then an apartment for the first few months of 2003.”

So Brodeur is one in a set of triplets?
He actually slept with his wife's brother's wife though, so that's a little less freaky. The article I posted above states it properly, I just misread it.
