TSN broke the trade live just now...Calgary has acquired defenseman Jordan Leopold from Colorado in exchange for journeyman defenseman Lawrence Nycholat, prospect Ryan Wilson and a 2nd round pick. _____________________________________________
Leopold is familiar with Calgary's system, having played there not too long ago. His injury problems are reportedly behind him and hes playing his best hockey in a long time. Great pickup for Calgary and they didn't give up too much.

If Colorado wanted Nycholat, why didn't they just claim him yesterday?
Third team in 3 days for him.

I imagine Colorado just simply asked for a warm body they could put in the lineup to replace Leopold, and maybe Calgary had claimed Nycholat for an instance such as this. 3rd team in three days is kinda funny.

Well the Flames have no 1st or 2nd rounder next year. As a Canucks fan I do like this. If this team falls on its face in the first round it would be tragic for them.
