The biggest names are Gary Roberts, Brendan Morrison and Miroslav Satan.
I can see a playoff bound team looking for Roberts. Morrison is a checking line center at this point in his career, an expensive one. And Satan? What were the Penguins thinking at $3.5 million?
Other players on waivers are: Martin Gerber, Aaron Voros, Jon Sim and Craig Adams.
I guess Voros' job will be taken by Avery. He's making a lot for a fourth liner though, don't know if he'll be claimed.

At worst he could fill Satan's spot.

i was reading at hockeybuzz though that roberts doesn't exactly have a friendly contract. highly overpaid, from what i understand. doubt the penguins want to be involved with that. question is, will anybody bite for satan?
the pens waived 4th line center bill thomas yesterday, too. looks like they're clearing up two spots. gotta wonder if there's a multiplayer deal in the works.

Roberts contract isn't that bad at all actually, I don't know why someone would get that impression. Especially when you consider its going to be a pro-rated hit on the cap since its almost the end of the season.
I would be surprised if Satan, Roberts and Voros aren't claimed.

yeah, i don't know who was making stuff up over there... they also said roberts' contract has like 2 years left on it.
looking at it now, seems totally reasonable. i wouldn't mind him on the pens' 4th line (sadly, that's where he'd end up... no room on L3, not good enough for top six)

I think it's a bit insulting to see good character guys like this on waivers. It'll be a solid and free pick up for who ever gets them!
Satan and Roberts would be admirable contributions to any team heading to the playoffs at this point.

Toronto claims Martin Gerber from Ottawa and Erik Reitz from NY Rangers.
Dallas claims Brenden Morrison.
Brenden Bell, Roberts, Voros and Satan all clear waivers.

Craig Adams was also cleaimes by the Penguins.
The last guy I expected t obe claimed was Gerber. And by the Leafs??? They would be much better off to let Pogge and Joseph handle the rest of the year, and that's assuming Toskala is too banged up to keep going this year. If Toskala is healthy enough to go, this team now has 4 goalies that can play.... but Pogge now wont.

The move may be more about replacing Pogge in the minors. Poor Gerber.

Tom Preissing cleared waivers and was sent to Manchester. Some reason no one knew about this abroad.
