Ducks trade defensive defenseman Nathan McIver for fourth line RW Mike Brown from Vancouver. Pretty insignificant, but trades are always fun.

I like McIver and don't like Brown, so I love it.

You wouldn't know it because it has received very little media attention, but Jussi Jokinen was waived by the Lightning again yesterday...and cleared waivers as of noon today. It was thought that Chicago or Nashville would make a claim for Jokinen but he went unclaimed and now will have his bags packed and ready to get used to life in the AHL, as the Lightning have decided to demote him.

Think they'll put him on re-entry again? This late in the season half his salary sounds dooable for most teams.

I think they might try re-entry waivers after they see how he responds to his demotion. Since nobody claimed him, Tampa still owns his rights and hes an RFA this summer...so they could re-sign him and keep him in the organization, instead of paying half his salary for him to play for another club.
He would be a good fit almost anywhere, except for a team that is already plagued by not having enough physical players. He has speed, hes good on faceoffs, he can play LW or C, and hopefully he can remember how to score goals because he hasn't done much of that lately.

Tons of activity around the league in the last couple days...
Legace on waivers; Avery on waivers; Jokinen traded to Carolina; Goligoski to AHL; Stephan to AHL...
keep an eye on goalie Brent Krahn. He was a 1st round pick of the Calgary Flames in 2000 (9th overall), and has put up some decent numbers this year in the AHL with Quad City (.914, 2.28 in 8 GP). Dallas obviously sees something in him to call him up over Tobias Stephan. He'll get a shot, for sure.
