The Montreal Canadiens suffered would could be a significant blow, losing center Robert Lang who is out indefinitely after he underwent surgery to repair a severed Achilles tendon on his left leg.
Lang had been leading the team with 18 goals. Tough loss for Montreal who has really been struggling as of late. Have to wonder if they will seek a replacement via trade, or hope that Plekanec can step it up.

hmm. Tkachuck could replace lang pretty well and he may be availalble and Montreal is a contender. Could be a good fit.
This is a big blow to Montreal indeed.

I hope this injury isn't serious enough that it could affect him next season because Achilles injuries have been known to put athletes down.

Poor guy, was having a good year as is his team. They just got Saku back. Hockey gods are cruel sometimes.
Tkachuk even as a LW takes faceoffs a good bit and pretty much plays LW/C all the time. I agree *IF* he wants to be traded he'll fit somewhere nicely. He likes st. louis though and has his family here, so I think he'll end up working for us when he retires. It's very possible he will not go the ray bourque rent-me-for-a-cup route.
If he does though, his buddy JR play for San Jose. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they look at him when thinking abouts stretch run.

There have also been Lecavelier roumors this could certainly fuel those fires. I think this will be an interesting deadline.
