Rate these keepers. I'm looking to improve on Alfredsson as a keeper and need to know where to start.
Roy Krejci Jokinen Toews Kessel Semin Stamkos Boyle Parise Alfredsson

Toews, Kessel, Krejci, Semin... practically interchangeable. All of them have risks involved, but all have huge potential. Probably put Krejci at the low end of that list, but i'm really high on that kid.
Next comes Alfredsson, who isn't done quite yet, and Parise. Jokinen, Roy, and Boyle probably fit in there as well, probably in that order.
Third tier, all alone, would be Stamkos. He's gonna be great, but it's still a bit risky.
Toews, Semin, Kessel, Krejci, Alfredsson, Jokinen, Parise, Roy, Boyle, Stamkos. That's my assessment.
Bear in mind, I didn't look up any numbers or do any research before I answered this... this is all off the top of my head.

1. Jonathan Toews- Franchise center w/ a 100 pts season potential. Just doesn't get any better than that. 2. Phil Kessel- The once projected #1 pick has shut out his critics in dazzling fashion this season and I'm a believer. 3. Zach Parise- Exceptional talent. He's one of the few players I can honestly say make his linemates better. Perennial point per game producer looks like is in store for his future. 4. Alexander Semin- I would rank Semin higher but injuries has been an issue in his young career and unfortunately until he has a string of at 70+ game seasons he will never reach his full potential. Although I must say Semin has shown spurts of pure brilliance this season, but he's not too far removed from his 07-08 season which could be classified as disastrous. Still risky. 5. Olli Jokinen- Okay this season has not gone as planned as an injury sideline him and production is slipping, but let's not forget he has put up 90 points on a Florida team where he had little support. Now w/ a more offensively gifted Coyotes team who knows what he can accomplish when he gets adjusted w/ the new team. 6. Daniel Alfredsson- Ottawa is a mess and the way this team is going some serious changes may take place. Dynamic scorer almost a lock for at least 30+ goals a season, but there is still a point per game producer but age is slowly creeping on him which takes his keeper value down. 7. Dan Boyle- This guy plays and scores like a forward. Creative and very productive on the ice. Although this all comes @ a price because he does seem like a defensive liability out there solely because he gets caught down low quite often. Barring injuries he should be a perennial top 10 scoring dman. 8. David Krejci- Also another surprise for the Bruins. I heard of his great playmaking, but if someone told me he was going to put the numbers he has so far I probably would've assumed that was for an entire season. Boston is quickly on the rise and I will be one of the 1st to say this, but this Boston team is here to stay for many years, so it can only get better for Krejci. 9. Derek Roy- Talented, but like always his size has been a major concern for me especially for a centerman. He proved his doubters last season and played great. Although this season he seems to be struggling and the question marks will slowly start popping up again on Roy. There are more less risky options out there use Roy as a last resort. 10. Steven Stamkos- Interesting situation. I have watched him a few times and there's times he looks invisible out there and sometimes he shows flashes of what made him a #1 overall pick. There's still time for him to develop, but I don't know until Tampa gets thing organized and under control I'm very concerned about his development because the Tampa management has been questionable to say the least. Who knows keep a very close eye on him the 2nd half of this season because if he becomes more consistent and comfortable w/ the NHL who knows he can surprise people who are already saying bust.
