I am entering the 2nd year of a keeper pool and would like some input into potential prospects that i could draft. There are a fair amount of quality ones available because it is so new. We are able to draft ANYONE who has not played more than 35 games in a single season (even players from the 2010, 2011 draft if we want). I currently have 3 first round picks (#5, 7, and 9) and really need to make them count. I dont have any goalie prospects so i think i will use one or two of them to address that.
some available players of note include:
ALL of the 2010 draft class Most of the 2009 draft class (EXCEPT Tavares, hedman, duchene and MSP) a fair amount of drafted players (colborne, eberle, tedenby, anisimov, boychuck, grachev, tangradi, gerbe)
Goalies include: schneider, markstrom, pickard, gustavson, pavalec, enroth
Who do you think I should target?

i think you should grab gustavsson with one of those top picks, although i have a feeling he may be taken sooner. if so, go for marsktrom. and if HE'S gone... pavelec, maybe? enroth? not sure.
in terms of forwards... tangradi, grachev, tedenby, and colborne are my top guys from that list. tangradi probably has one year in the AHL before he sees time on Malkin's wing. but once he gets there, that could be magic. tedenby is a little further away, but he's going to be very, very good, from what i've read. grachev could step in pretty soon (maybe this year, definitely next year). only concern there is linemates, but NY has a solid youth movement coming up, here. and colborne hasn't proven too much to me yet, but i would almost guarantee 50+ points this year in the NCAA.
back to goalies for a second.... other guys you might consider: backlund, sateri, curry, or karlsson. Even frazee if he's available. but i think all the guys you listed are ahead of these guys on the list.

So would you suggest drafting tangradi, grachev, tedenby, or colborne ahead of guys like B. Shenn, E. Kane, Kadri, glennie, schoeder from 09 or even hall and others from the 2010 draft?

well... i think only Hall, or MAYBE Kabanov from the 2010 draft. As for the others... i think I'd take tangradi and grachev over those guys... but maybe not tedenby or colborne. they're all so far away, it's hard to tell.
i don't suppose Luca Caputi is available?

As far as goalies Zoom hit it right on the dot as far as what I would do. As far as goaltending it also depends if you need a guy NOW or a guy you can wait to develop one so... If you need a guy now... Gustavsson is your man. If you can wait for a guy to develop for a few years Markstrom fits the bill and you won't regret it most likely because he's been pretty highly touted. Forwards Tangradi is top dog because of his potential to land on line with the biggest fantasy guns out there Malkin/Crosby and I consider him one of the most NHL ready prospects out there and should be seeing some NHL action by midseason if all goes well in his development. Now if you can wait one year... I'd say Taylor Hall is your man. I've watched this kid in Windsor and he simply tears it up. I figure on him stepping up big time this season and wowing everyone and hopefully on the big stage if he makes Team Canada for the World Junior Championships. Grachev is a solid option and people are just raving about this kid and with his versatility to play center and left wing will help him hopefully crack the Ranger lineup in under a year and like James pointed out there's quite the youth movement goin on there that hasn't gone too public with the fans, but so far with what they have drafted they have done a stellar job. If there was one more guy out there I feel you just have to have... I'd put my money on a toss up between Schroeder and Evander Kane neither could go wrong... There's room on the RW for both of em in their respective organizations and they both have great goal scoring potential that's hard to look away from especially with their potential linemates who could set them up.

Thanks! Luca Caputi is still available actually. How high do you think his potential ceiling is? Where would he rank among the players listed above?

caputi has the best chance of anyone to make it out of Penguins' camp this year. And if he does, he's going straight to Malkin's line. With that in mind, I'm thinking he's got a 50 point season in him, with a lifetime ceiling of maybe 75? Dobber has Caputi's Upside as 40-45-85+, 90 PIM. Calls him a Luc Robitaille-type.
Tangradi's going to be more of a PWF in Pittsburgh's top six. I can see a line with Caputi-Malkin-Tangradi, where Eric is the muscle, and Geno/Luca make the magic. So I would imagine Caputi's ceiling is a healthy 10 points better than Tangradi's.
I would take Caputi before anyone else on the list... but I may be a little biased as a Pens fan.
