can richards play wing? I might move richards to wing and have crosby center a line.

i think crosby HAS to center a line. i'd leave getzlaf off the team before moving crosby to the wing, if it came down to that. getz just seems a little too physical for international hockey. he could be a liability.

How is Marc Savard not invited to the camp??? Mcdonald and Roy over Savard?? Savard is the third best center in the league....
Off the top of my head my team would be:
Heatley - Crosby - Iginla St. Louis - Lecavalier - Perry Nash - Richards - Carter? Marleau - Thornton - Doan Getzlaf, Gagne
Pronger - Niedermayer Phaneuf - Green Weber - Boyle Bouwmeester - Keith
Brodeur - Luongo - Fleury
Can Carter play wing? If not I like a healthy Gagne. I'd also like to get E. Staal in there somewhere.
I'm also not sure about Thornton. His playoff performances might cost him a spot on the team; however, he was a fourth line checker on the 2002 team, and that worked out pretty well.
I'm not sure about the 8 D thing in international hockey. I don't remember at all, but the debates on TSN have been about Regher and if he's good enough to be the 7th D-man on the team.
I think the young guys like Doughty, M. Staal, Mason and Lucic have just been invited to experience this type of atmosphere. I don't see them having too much of a shot at the team, but I think it'll be a great learning opportunity for them.

I will guarantee that Nash-Getzlaf-Heatley will be a line, they torn up the Worlds and were the most dominated line for any Team Canada in recent memory. Also Crosby played the wing in the World Juniors and can easily slip into the wing for this elite tournament, thus a line of Iginla-Lecavalier-Crosby would just be sick. The line of Carter-Richard-Doan will be a shut down line with more offensive potential then most other countries 1st line. Finally, your final line should have both size and skill, thus St Louis has proved he can play internationally, Eric Staal is just a monster and extremely skilled and I have Perry who brings both grit and skill. Teams will be scared to play Team Canada and even though I know it international rules, using your size will draw penalties, holding, etc. and Team Canada will have the size neccessary to take home the GOLD!
