Would have been highway robbery if the Oilers got that trade through, but Heatley did not waive for that deal. I found that rather interesting because is there 1 team he's really pushing for to acquire him or what? Regardless Oilers fans can't be pleased by being constantly snubbed by top end talent just to name a few Pronger asking to be dealt, Hossa turning down major money, and now Heatley saying no to that deal.

So do I. What a d-bag. Though I'm happy he didn't end up in Edmonton. I heard it was the issue of the $4 million bonus that held up the deal though.

If I were senators I would start a law suit. One year into 6 year deal he publicly demands a trade a week before the draft, then when the team arranges a trade he invokes his no trade clause. As many goals as this guy scores he creates nothing but problems for his management every where he goes.
I hear he wants to go to Rangers. The nerve to demand a trade then limit your GM's options even further by demanding what teams. Do you know sens have to pay him a 4 million signing bonus if the trade does not happen before 12:00am today. Ludicrous!!!

Maybe the Rangers will ship off Gaborik in a package deal for Heatley.
I'm a bit surprised this deal with Heatley has turned out as sour as it has. The Senators pretty much saved him from Atlanta in that straight trade for Hossa. They didn't really have to do that, and he's had some good years in Ottawa playing with Spezza. Makes me wonder why he's demanding a trade, unless he's just a spoiled dude who wants to play for a winning team.....like Hossa, making that trade even more ironic (both also turning down Edmonton).
He might as well become a Penguin, no wait a Wing....screw it, just skip out the middle men and become a Hawk Heatley.
