Going along with the whole concept of Hedman/Duchene's value...
Gonchar/2nd Overall for Green/7th Overall
This is a 12-team dynasty salary cap league with 21-man varsity rosters and 25-man JV rosters. We start 2 LW, 2 RW, 2 C, 2 UTIL, 4 D, and 2 G each night.
My roster: C: Langkow, Kesler, Hensick, Krejci LW: Stillman, Kovalchuk, Kunitz, Wolski RW: Simmonds, Bouchard (LW) D: Grebeshkov, Markov, Goligoski, Gonchar G: Bryzgalov, C. Mason, Osgood
Prospects: C: Esposito, Maxwell, Grachev, Kolarik, Wahl, Marchand, D. Desharnais LW: Pesonen, DiBenedetto, B. Leitch, Caporusso (is he LW?) RW: Repik, Karsums, Nyquist D: Hickey, Niemi, Berglund, Eckford G: Markstrom, Pogge, Koskinen
The draft that these picks are for only includes players who have played fewer than 92 NHL games, and who aren't already on teams. The whole first round will probably be 2009ers. I've got the 2nd and 4th overall picks... planning to take Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson at #4, assuming he's still available. At #7 I'd take either Glennie or a dman like Ekman-Larsson, Ellis, or Kulikov.
Is this deal a fair one? I get a long-term dman in Green, but I'm giving up a stud in Duchene or Hedman. Thoughts?

I think Green's value is at an all-time high, and many people are valuing him like hes the second coming of Bobby Orr. I think I'd rather have Gonchar/2nd overall personally. I'd pick Matt Duchene with that pick and hes going to be a franchise player for the next decade or more. Green, while his numbers have been impressive, is not going to make up for the fact whoever you take at 7 will not be the fantasy producer Duchene will be.
