boyle is a top defenseman in terms of points... if you're giving him up, you better be getting a top tier player in return. O'Sullivan is not that, in my opinion.
try getting frolik or berglund with barker. if that doesn't work, i might try replacing barker with harrold... but i think you'd be losing the deal in that case. anything less than frolik/barker or berglund/barker is too little.

Hey bro, I'm agreeing with zoom here. Boyle's top tier. Make sure you're getting a top tier deal, and O'sully/Harrold is not that. If you don't get what you want now, wait until the deadline. You'll either find that you are in the thick of things and happy you have him, or you'll find that this isn't your year and his value will be higher. During the drafts, picks are gravy...during the season, studs take the cake.

thanks, he wouldnt even do the Barker/Sully.
I was offered JT for Carter + but I think hes a guy id hang onto. Also a lot of interest in Burns but I feel Id be selling low on him. THanks guys, nice site.

couple of deals
Smythe for Grabner and a 2nd pick in 2011
Ryder/Guerin for Pacioretti/Mursak/Shattenkirk and the 33 overall in this years draft.

the 2011 draft is already projecting to be one of the worst in a while, and grabner hasn't really lived up to his potential. That said, Smyth isn't getting any younger, and colorado is. It's a high-risk high-reward trade, but if Grabner pans out, and someone shows up in 2011, the Smyth side loses that deal.
With Guerin re-signing in Pittsburgh, his value certainly went way up. But I'm not sure Ryder/Guerin is anywhere near Pacioretti/Mursak/Shattenkirk/33rd overall. That seems like a very one-sided trade to me.

well adding jones makes the deal even MORE lopsided, in my opinion. Shattenkirk is a very solid prospect, and will have a great NHL career... very low-risk. Pacioretti has already proven he can produce at the NHL-level. In a couple years he could be a 75 point guy. 33rd overall isn't great, but it's also not terrible. a solid depth player, for sure.
all of that for Guerin... a guy who probably won't top 60 points this year, and could retire in June. And Ryder... a guy who really capitalized on the talent around him this year, but still only managed 53 points.
