www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=282846Sources tell TSN the Toronto Maple Leafs have received what the team considers to be a significant offer for defenceman Tomas Kaberle. There are few details available, however the offer arrived unexpectedly Thursday afternoon and is believed to be from one of the teams who may have been in the hunt, trying to acquire the negotiating rights to Florida's Jay Bouwmeester. Toronto had originally intended on holding on to Kaberle until after the July 1 free agent frenzy in hope of attracting a better package from a team that wasn't able to land a free agent defenceman. Sources say the Leafs are seriously considering the offer while waiting to see what other interest materializes in the coming hours.

I have a feeling its either to Philadelphia or a Pacific Division team. Whoever it is, their getting a very good defenseman at a very reasonable cap hit.

Burke undoubtedly needs more assets aka draft picks if he wants to rebuild so obviously Kaberle is expendable. As long as he doesn't trade him for another veteran I think both teams will be happy about whatever occurs.

I know Burke sounded like Kaberle was one of the players he wanted to keep if he parts with him I bet he gets a monster trade or would not be giving him up. If leafs can court J-bo and land Gustiveson then Kubina Schenn Gustivson, Toskala would make them pretty formidable in their own end. But I know if if if, we should know more soon.

I think Burke was loyal to Kaberle as long as his no trade clause was in effect. I might be wrong, but I think there was a period in the summer when Kaberle's NTC was not in effect. Maybe Burke is trying to cash in while he can.

There is a report that the interest in Kaberle is coming from Boston and that the marque player in the discussion is Phil Kessel. I can't think of a better team to be in discussion for Burke there is a lot to work with on both sides. I still think nothing happens though
