Apparently Boston was playing injured...
Kessel, Krejci, Ference... all to have off-season surgery!
"The 21-year-old Kessel, who led Boston with 36 goals, will have surgery for a torn rotator cuff and labrum in his shoulder. The 23-year-old Krejci, second on the team with 73 points, will undergo hip surgery. General manager Peter Chiarelli said Monday their status for the start of the season is questionable. ... Chiarelli said defenseman Andrew Ference also will have surgery. Ference has a torn groin, a bruised pelvis and a hernia."
a torn groin, a bruised pelvis, AND a hernia. my god.

wow that is too bad, kinda explains a bit too. Great to see these guys go for it, most cup winning teams have to play through injury. Hope it goes well for them, I know bruins will take another shot next year.

I think every team was playing hurt. I know a couple of the guys on the Canucks revealed their injuries once they were eliminated. Burrows had hand, wrist and hip-flexor problems. He'll have surgery on the wrist during the offseason.
Isn't Mike Richards having a big surgery too?
