I didn't pay attention to last years deadline. But I remember 2007, and when the 3pm deadline cam everyone said it was the slowest deadline ever. Then, for the next two hours huge deals kept getting finalized (like the Smyth deal) and it was the biggest deadline of all time.
I don't think this will be like 2007, but I think we will hear about a lot of deals after the deadline passes.

TSN just showed an interview with Flames GM|Coach Darryl Sutter from this past Friday where Sutter said very bluntly that he absolutely did not need a top 2 centerman, puck moving defenseman or veteran goaltender. They were saying it was Sutter's poker face...haha
2 out of 3 for Calgary...I do think they need a veteran backup...perhaps Legace or Raycroft?

Well, we'll still take St. Louis off your hands Randy...I mean being that we can't figure out why he'd want to play in TB since they are years away from the playoffs!!

They're talking Bouwmeester for Bieksa, Raymond and a First on Sportsnet. Mostly speculation, but I think they have some inside info. No way in hell I would do that move. Take the first rounder out of it and maaaybe I would.

RDS reports Neil to the Panthers (on nhl.com) no details yet That would be a really smart move for Florida. I think Bouwmeester is going nowhere. I think they are going to take the chance they can get him to re-sign before July 1st.

TSN is killing Sportsnet this year. Yeah but I personally have yet to see it be the other way around. TSN is definitely the top source in Canada IMO.

They are saying Antropov went for a 2nd round pick and a conditional draft pick.

TSN is usually pretty accurate. But I support Sportsnet all the way. Sportsnet broadcasts regionally, Catering to 5 different regions in Canada. TSN broadcasts only out of Toronto because it's the biggest city in Canada, but because of this they talk about the Leafs 75% of the time, and the other 25% is Ottawa and Montreal. Sportsnet is funnier anyway .

Are they saying its official? Cause TSN hasn't reported that yet.
Pierre McGuire just said that Bouwmeester is officially going nowhere.

Sportsnet said Antropov to the Preds was official, and Phaulsson to the Hawks . Morris for Nigel Dawes, Kalinen and Prucha. Good deal for the Coyotes!

Not even a whisper of anything happening with Lecavalier...haha I love it! So many people were so dead set that he was going to be dealt...I always knew he wouldn't be. No way.

They just said Chris Neil is NOT in Florida, and Alexei Ponikarovsky is NOT in Nashville.
But Atlanta did deal Erik Christensen to Anaheim for Eric O'Dell, who was a 2nd round pick of Anaheim's last season. I like that deal for Atlanta.

for a 2nd round pick. I have a feeling thats going to be a really good deal for Toronto. I don't think Moore is the real deal personally.

The NYR/PHO is no surpize cause the Rangers have been in love with Morris forever and because there are ties that bind the two teams... Gretzky and Maloney.
Its not so bad for the Rangers to have moved Prucha and Dawes, esp because of Cap space. But I don't like Kalinin being part of the deal. Good news for Prucha though who I still think if given a chance can flourish, but he needs to play!
If Antropov is true the Rangers addressed their two needs but with only marginal acquisitions.
Naslund-Gomez-Zherdev Avery-Drury-Antropov Korpikoski-Dubnisky-Callahan Sjostrom-Betts-Orr
Staal-Girardi Roszival-Redden Mara-Morris
eh, its a better squad then it was two days ago.

Dammit. Tampa Bay traded Steve Eminger to Florida for Noah Welch and a 3rd rounder. Why in the world Tampa traded Eminger is beyond me. Of course they had to go and ruin what would have been a good day for them, after getting Lashoff/Karsums from Boston, by dealing Eminger who has played very well for us. Totally ticked right now.
