Thomas was a stud in a third period in a game of no defense. He mad a beauty of a save near the end of regulation and then the stops in the shoot out. Kovalev has one of the best shots I have ever seen but I dont think he won the game. Yes, I am a Bruins fan, but I think the home town crowd influenced this MVP decision in the all-star game. thoughts??

I'm right there with you. Thomas managed to turn that crowd completely around... remember when they were inexplicably chanting his name (not in a good way) early in the third, and then screaming their lungs out by the end of the period? That alone should've won him the car.
Boo, NHL, for selecting the 'hometown favorite'... you don't always have to make everyone happy.

I agree Thomas stole the show, but I also agree with the hometown favorite getting the MVP. =)

Yea, this was Montreal's show. If thomas played for a team that wasn't one of Montreal's rivals then maybe he would have had a shot.
I also thought Marc Savard looked awesome out there. He was definitely the best player on his line with Ovechkin and Heatley.

Kovalev did hit a couple of posts though, in addition to his 2 regulation goals and assist and also scored in the shootout...I think it was just as good of a choice as Thomas, and keep in mind I hate Montreal...lol
