From the Predators website this morning:
Forward Steve Sullivan is skating with the Predators at practice today. Through the first half of practice, he has skated at full speed in all of the drills with the team.
This is the first time Sullivan has skated with the team for a practice session this season. _______________________________________
Don't jump the gun and go picking him up off waivers just yet, but this is definitely a good sign. Stay tuned.

i had heard the other day that he's close to return. he could be a HUGE game changer in fantasy hockey if he comes back in any kind of good form.

Man every predators fan is prolly just hoping Sullivan gets back soon because he was a beast when they acquired him and to have that kinda boost to their team could get this team leapfrogging teams in the standings.

IMO, Steve Sullivan got Predators hockey off the ground. I remember attending his first game as predator. At the time, he was the best player i ever seen in a Preds Uniform. First game, Hat trick, "Sully Fever" (as i like to call it) caught on. People would come to the games dressed up like Sully the monster in the Movie, Monsters Inc. And we all now the rest of the story, we went to the playoffs for the first time ever, we signed Superstar Paul Kariya, Arnott, Won the big Forsberg sweepstakes, and went to the playoffs for 4 straight seasons I can't wait to see him back on the ice. For more than one reason

i was looking back at his old numbers the other day... they guy had 10 points in his first 3 preds games. that has to be some kind of record. Only one i can think about that came close in recent years was Havlat. In his first three games with the Blackhawks he had 8 points I remember him and Scott walker played extremely well together. So i did some research. Scott Walker also had 10 points in Sully's first three games. You could say Sullivan and Walker went together like Lamb and Tuna Fish..... ------------------------------------------------------------- Sully and Scott Walker.... Nashville's Dynamic Duo In Sully's first 3 games he had 10 points Before being traded to Nashville, Sully had 43 points in 56 games. After being traded, he had 30 points in 24 games. In Sully's first 3 games Scott Walker had 10 points Scott Walker finished the 03-04 season with 67 points in 75 games. A career best beating his previous career high of 54 in 74 games back in 2000-2001. Before Sully was traded Scott Walker had 38 points in 52 games. After he was traded, Walker had 29 points in 23 games

Forward Steve Sullivan, who has missed almost two years with back problems that required two surgeries, has targeted Saturday's game against Chicago for his return. - The Tennessean
Good news. I look forward to seeing him back in uniform and playing.

I am trying not to get my hopes up. We need Offense, We just lost 5 straight. We got a little boost with a nice comeback win vs. The Penguins tonight.

funny how that worked out... the pens lose 5 straight and then finally win one, only to lose again to a team who has lost 5 straight. the pens/preds seem to be on the same wavelength right now.

I'd love to see Sullivan succeed. The guy has as much heart as anyone in the league. I read a recent article where he said his biggest fear is that first big hit. Practice is one thing, but getting hammered by Ben Eager is another.

here's to hoping there aren't any asses out there hoping to hit him hard early knowing that he's wary.

Update from the Sommet Center: Sully was in pre-game practice and it looks like he'll actually play after missing almost 2 years with a back injury.
EDIT: a standing O for sully as he made his onto the ice.
--------------------------------------------------------
Sully played a good game. Definitely not like his old self, but that was expected in his first game back. You could tell he was afraid of that first hit.
