Red Wings forward Johan Franzen has a Grade 2 sprain to his medial collateral ligament in his left knee and will be out three-to-four weeks.
It happened during the second period of Saturday's 6-5 shootout victory in Chicago, when Blackhawks defenseman Brent Sopel collided with him, hitting knee-on-knee in the neutral zone.
Oddly enough, it's the same injury, to the other knee, that Franzen suffered last year during the second game of the season in Chicago. He missed 10 games.
