Salo left the game in the second shift of Sunday's game in Chicago. He apparently hurt himself in the morning skate and wasn't sure if he could play until it was too late. All I know about Demitra is that it apparently looked bad, and that it was to the ribs. If you're in a PIM league, or if you need to know about every NHL injury, Hordichuk and Rypien are also out for a bit. Hordichuk with a knee problem and Rypien with a viral infection. Mark Pettinger and Kyle Wellwood have been recalled, but they will have to clear recall waivers before they can play. Here's the article I got this info from: www.canada.com/theprovince/news/sports/story.html?id=feb6d92a-5c3d-4ce2-9ef7-25fb9dbf28d0

I'm pretty sure Salo has hurt everything twice in his NHL career.... I just looked at his player bio. It goes like this (over 8 years):
Ankle, shoulder, foot, knee, groin, flu, finger, back, groin, shoulder, leg, shoulder, groin, knee, groin, flu, wrist, nose, groin.
Just his shoulder and groin problems far surpass those of other NHLers, then you look at the other fluke stuff that happens to him, and you wonder why anyone would bother signing him.

From TSN.ca
Vancouver Canucks' centre Pavol Demitra will be sidelined 3-4 weeks after an MRI discovered fractured cartilage in his ribs. He is expected to see a specialist to deal with the injury. Kyle Wellwood will likely take Demitra's place in the lineup.

I just posted this in the Bieksa topic... but it's far more relevant here. Salo is now listed as day to day after going down Wednesday against Colorado. He finished the game on Wednesday, but missed practice today. Demitra is feeling better and practiced today with Pyatt and Wellwood. He could play Saturday, but they probably wont know until game day. I got all this info from the Canucks website. canucks.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=NHLPage&id=18196
