From Rotoworld: Daniel Alfredsson-W-Senators Oct. 10 - 11:14 am et Daniel Alfredsson will need to undergo arthroscopic surgery to remove a bone chip in his right knee. Alfredsson suffered the injury during Ottawa's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday in Stockholm, Sweden. Alfredsson is only expected to be sidelined for seven to 10 days. Stay tuned. What is the NHL rule regarding the IR? If a team places a player on the IR, how many games does he have to sit out? As if it's not bad enough losing Alfredsson for awhile, it sucks all the more that he ties up a roster spot in fantasy just because his damn team won't put him on the IR.
