That too many men on the ice call was a real kick in the nuts but the result was inevidable. Columbus learned a lot from that series.
Everytime I doubt Osgood that guy just pulls it off time and time again. Great game and series.

Nice work Chicago. All that youth and talent has arrived for the fans in the windy city.
I hope Carolina wins so we get a PIT WAS matchup.

What a great first round. Those game 7's delivered big. 3rd period was like overtime all the way. Sergei Fedorov is my all time favorite player and to see him rocket down the boards pull up and let loose a wicked game winning whrister had me out of my chair. Then Caroline 2 goals to take the game in the last minute. Unbeleivable.
Detroit over Anaheim 4-1 Vancouver over Chcago 4-2 Washington over Pittsburg 4-3 Boston over Carolina 4-2

Gotta say Pittsburgh over Washington in 6. It'd be bad karma any other way...
Boston over Carolina in 5.

Detroit in 6 Vancouver in 6
Boston in 6 Washington in 7
I don't know why I'm always hating on Pittsburgh, I'm a Crosby fan. I can't wait to see Pit and Wash though!

Anyone watching the Pitts Caps series? Man what a treat to watch Cidny, Malkin and Ovechkin go head to head in a 7 game series. Everyone knows how dominant those players are but its amazing to see it at this level. Thank goodness for Versus.

it really has been an incredible series. i have a feeling that the conference champ will come out of this one, regardless of who they play in the next round. pittsburgh and washington really seem to be the two best teams in the East.
i predicted washington over pittsburgh in 6... obviously that's already wrong, but i still wouldn't be surprised to see the Caps pull this one out. Game 6 is huge... if the pens win, the series is over. but if the caps win, the series may as well be over, too. can't wait.

I couldn't help but think back to this while they were shaking hands. Open up and make room for a size 12 skate Semin LOL www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2008/10/31/semin_crosby/I am bummed Fedorov won't be making another run this year hope he sticks it out another season, but Pens are very deserving to advance.

Wow, I actually think Jim Kelly acheived being the bigger dusche in that exchange . I felt bad bringing it up in one sentence but a full article of pure trash talk is a bit overboard, dang. When he commented Sidney matched A.O hit for hit I chuckled a bit. Pre-series I was really routing for Caps but the pens won me over. Sidney is a product of Canadian biased NHL hype but I feel like this series allowed him to really take ownership of his stardom. People that did not see the series will still cry Sidney corperate this and Sidney Bettman that but this series was something special and he was a huge part of that. I think Semin was just a little young and cocky when all that media was around him, I'm sure he learned about silly statements comming back to haunt you.

the thing about Crosby... he's over-hyped and over-loved by the NHL -- their clear favorite. But take away all of that crap, and he's still a phenomenal hockey player. Better than Ovechkin? Maybe not. But still, phenomenal.
Unfortunately, most people aren't able to get past all of that crap. Every time the NHL does Sid a favor, though, they're really just hurting him at this point. They made the mistake of giving him all the credit BEFORE he'd earned it himself, and it could haunt him his whole career.

I guess the overhype is the downside of playing junior hockey in Canada. People have been marveling over Sidney's skill since he was 16, instead of Ovechkin, who we didn't really know until he played his first NHL game. Tavares will be in the same boat as Sidney.

Eastern Conference Finals preview now posted... West coming soon.
I predicted Pittsburgh 4-2. And in the West I'll say Detroit 4-3, but Idiopathic will do the official preview.

I don't know how Carolina has gotten so far. So I'll pick them to be the Cinderella team that makes it to the finals only to be swept in the finals by a team who everyone thought would be there. So I predict Caroina in 7 and Detroit in 6.
Though I'm hoping for Chicago and Pittsburgh.

Dats and Linds come back in game 3 but its too late. Pens in 6
I have doubted Ozgood his whole career and he proves me wrong time and time again but I don't think he can stand up to the pens this time around especially when 3 of the wings most defensively skilled players are questionable on the roster.
Man my first stanley cup matchup repeat, I am stoked.

Pens got some good chances and sustained some pressure but that dominance they showed during carolina series an in a lot of the washington series is certainly gone. The wings frustrated the heck out of them. No chink in the red wing armor yesterday, depth scoring to the rescue again.
